Work the pattern up thru Round 15

Rnd 16:  Ch 1, working in both loops, sc in same and in remaining 49 sc, sl st in first sc, do not turn,
               sl st in next sc, turn.

Top -
Row 17:  Ch 1, working in back loops only, 2 sc in same sl st, sc in next sl st, sc in next 17 sc, 2 sc in next sc, turn.
                (leaving remaining stitches unworked)   (22sc)

Row 18 thru 22: Ch 1, working in both loops, sc in same sc and in next 21 sc, turn.     (22sc)

Flap -
Row 23: Ch 1, working in back loops only, sc in same sc and in next 21 sc, turn.

Row 24:  Ch 1, working in both loops, sc first 2 sc together (dec), sc in next18 sc, sc next 2 sc together (dec),
                turn.   (20sc)

Row 25:  Ch 1, dec, sc in next 16 sc, dec, turn.   (18sc)

Row 26:  Ch 1, dec, sc in next 14 sc, dec, turn.   (16sc)

Row 27:  Ch 1, dec, sc in next 12 sc, dec, turn.   (14sc)

Row 28:  Ch 1, dec, sc in next 10 sc, dec, turn.   (12sc)

Edging for Top and Flap -
Join thread in the side of Row 17, ch 1, sc in the side of Rows 17 thru 28, sc in the 12 sc of Row 28, sc in the
sides of Row 28 thru 23. Finish off.

To make a loop for the buttonhole, I did a chain of about 20 with a smaller hook (1.75 mm steel) and hand sewed
it to the center front edge of the flap.
