Pocket Tissue Holder - Redux

by Pam Black  (May 2011)

I originally designed this pattern when the request came up on one of the
on-line crochet groups I belonged to.  At the time, there was not the amount
of patterns available on the web as there is now.  It's a fairly simply pattern
that I made up and wrote down quickly.  Recently my daughter saw the one
I had in my purse and asked me to make one for her.  I decided to use some
Speed-Cro-Sheen I had so it would be a little stiffer.  The one I made with
the baby yarn was a little too soft for my taste.  Using the same pattern, the
Speed-Cro-Sheen worked up almost the same but it was a tad too small for
the kleenex package.  It seems the baby yarn stretched to fit and the
Speed-Cro-Sheen did not.  So it was back to the drawing board.

This is designed to fit the
Kleenex® pocket pack
which is about 4 ¼” x 2 ¼” x 1”
Materials:
Speed-Cro-Sheen (size 3) thread
3/4” button
Size E (or 3.5MM) hook

5 sc = 1inch; 6 rows = 1 inch

To make a loop for the buttonhole, I did a chain of about 20 with a smaller hook (1.75 mm steel) and hand sewed
it to the center front edge of the flap.

My daughter suggested that I make the flap wider so I have added instructions for a wider flap here.
