Pocket Tissue Holder

This is designed to fit the
Kleenex® pocket pack
which is about 4 ¼” x 2 ¼” x 1”.
 
   
Materials:
Small amount of Jiffy Pompadour Baby yarn
3/8” or ½” button
Size E (or 3.5MM) hook

Guage:
5 sc = 1inch; 6 rows = 1 inch
 

Ch 19

Rnd 1:  Sc in second chain from hook, sc in next 16 chains, 5 sc in last chain, working in the remaining loops
of the original foundation chain, sc in the next 16 loops, 4 sc in the last remaining loop of chain,
join with sl st in first sc. Do not turn.    (42sc)

Rnd 2:  Ch 1, sc in same sc, sc in next 17 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next
18 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, join with sl st in first sc. Do not turn.    (46sc)

Rnd 3:  Working in back loop only, join with sl st in first sc, ch 1, sc in same sc, sc in each of remaining
45 sc, join with sl st in first sc.  Do not turn.

Rnd 4 thru 15:  Working in both loops, ch 1, sc in same sc, sc in remaining 45 sc, join with sl st in first
sc. Do not turn.

Row 16:  Working in back loop only, join with sl st in first sc, ch 1, sc in next 20 sc, ch 1, turn.  (Leave
remaining 24 sc unworked.)    (21sc).

Row 17 thru 21:  Working in both loops, sc in each sc, ch 1, turn.

Row 22:  Working in back loop only, sc in each sc, ch 1, turn.   (21 sc)

Row 23:  Working in both loops, sc first two sc tog (dec); sc in next 17 sc; sc last two sc tog (dec),
ch 1 turn.   (19sc)

Row 24: Repeat Row 23, decreasing at beginning and end of row.   (17sc)

Row 25: Repeat Row 23, decreasing at beginning and end of row.   (15sc)

Row 26: Repeat Row 23, decreasing at beginning and end of row.  Fasten off.   (13sc)

With contrasting color and right side facing, sc in side of first sc of Row 16, sc evenly in side of Rows
17 thru 26 (approx. 8 or 9 sc), 2 sc in first sc of Row 26, sc in next 4 sc, ch 3, skip next 3 sc
(buttonhole made), sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in last sc, sc evenly in side of Rows 26 thru 17 (approx 8 or
9 sc), sc in end of Row 16, fasten off.

Weave in ends. Sew button on front of holder (about Row 9).
